Covington Police Dozens Of Rounds Fired At Law Firm Person Dead At Scene

Covington, La. -- Police are investigating a shooting at a law firm on North Columbia Street, according to interim Covington Police Chief Jack West, where "dozens" of rounds were fired by a man.According to police, the only person present at the Upton Law Firm at 816 N. Columbia St. was a secretary who was uninjured. However, a person is dead inside the law firm.No details about that person were given by police. The owner of the law firm, Tim Upton, said a former client shot out in front of his law firm, walked in shooting around the office and then shot himself.Upton says his secretary was in the office and hid while the man shot through the building into his office. She was unharmed, Upton said.According to Covington Police, there is not an search ongoing for a suspect, but advises the public to be aware of the traffic tie up around area.
